B2B creative agency MOI Global triumphed at ExCeL London’s annual Great Agency Bake Off, which took place on 23 March.

The competition, based on popular TV show The Great British Bake-Off, pitted eight teams against each other, comprised of event agencies including drp, Crown Grass Roots, BCD Meetings & Events, Fisher Productions, MOI Global and Communique.

The event was held by ExCeL London in order to build closer working relationships with agency clients and to showcase the venue’s £15m investment in its catering experience.

The closely-fought contest also featured Martin Fullard, deputy editor of EN’s sister magazine Conference News, who is not widely known for his baking prowess.

Following both a signature bake (chocolate beetroot brownies) and a technical challenge (chocolate and avocado macaroons) MOI Global were crowned winners by judges Jonathan Belford from ExCeL London Hospitality, and Anna Gazzaniga from Gaucho.

Natasha Ient, senior event manager at MOI, commented, “We had a fantastic day at the Great Agency Bake Off. As this was the first time we had taken part we were not sure what to expect but upon arriving realised this was a serious competition! We put our game faces on and after a bit of a slip up with a half-baked brownie we managed to win victory with our macaroons. We look forward to defending our title in 2018.”

James Rees, executive director, ExCeL London, added: “We were delighted to host our third Great Agency Bake Off, spending quality time with some of the top event agencies in the UK. The event, like the bakes, gets more competitive every year and it’s great to see such friendly rivalry between the teams. Many congratulations to MOI Global on their win - we look forward to welcoming everyone back next year to see who will take the 2018 title.”
