Awards Project Manager

Leading Global exhibition company are looking for an experienced Awards Project Manager for new industry awards ceremony

The 11 specific expectations for the role

  1. Purpose of the role, key deliverables, responsibilities: "What does not happen if role does not exist?"
  • Development of marketing concepts (targets, strategies & mix) & full implementation of marketing plan; driving entry sales & revenue (including sending of e-newsletters, structure & updates of website, capturing sales information on web platform, data development, etc); monitors KPIs and drafts reports for line management, controls marketing budget
  • Identifying new strategies to grow revenues, and new live event opportunities globally (existing portfolio, external existing events, or standalone); including coordination of these opportunities
  • Strategic direction & management of the gala dinner, including long-term vision of the live event
  • Ensure smooth running of the event and gala experience, reflecting the brand experience; working with ops manager on the logistics of the new events across the packaging portfolio

  • Responsibility & controlling of the marketing & operations budget & schedule, following agreed standards

  • Propose long term strategy & business development to Global Brand Director

  • Global Brand Director, Operations Manager, global Head of Clusters (Pkg), MIT team
  1. Primary external work relations
  • For the region: Key sponsors, clients, jury members, federations, associations, opinion leaders, press, competitors, suppliers, ...
  1. Main processes, systems, tools used
  • Umbraco (website & emailing tool), Wordpress, Ingenico (online payment software), Filemaker Pro (judging platform), Navision (sponsor CRM & invoicing), EVMS (visitor database)…
  1. Three performance indicators: "How would you describe an outstanding performance in this role?"
  • Perform constantly above set objectives (revenues, award entries, sponsors, gala attendees)
  • Significantly grow the Pentwards in line with agreed strategic direction so they become one of the most exciting global awards to win
  • Enhance our existing portfolio of packaging events by bringing new content via the Pentawards (travelling innovation exhibition)
  1. Three expected deliverables by the end of the first three months
  • Complete understanding of the processes & software (the campaign schedule, web based technologies)
  • Good understanding of the packaging design community globally
  • Good understanding of our existing event portfolio and how the Pentawards could add content value
  1. Education and Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree ideally; Analytical mind, resilient, strategic vision, creativity, communication & presentation skills, commercial & negotiation skills, people management & motivation, show initiative and take decisions, good financial controller, result driven, passion & involvement, ...
  1. Experience (professional or industry knowledge, level of expertise,...)
  • Minimum 5 years’ commercial marketing experience in large units and project management
  • Knowledge of MICE industry a must; Awards experience preferable
  1. Knowledge of languages
