Business Development Manager

Event Production Group is looking to recruit an ambitious and energetic Business Development Manager for its event production operations based in Beckenham / Central London. Salary dependant upon experience

The ideal candidate for this role will be a high-level sales professional, tasked with the goal to drive sustainable financial growth through boosting sales and forging strong relationships with clients. Your priority will be to assist the company acquire new customers and sell additional products or services to existing ones. The ideal candidate of this role will have a sale background and track record of converting business within the corporate event and experiential marketing industry. Experience outside of the audio-visual sector is preferable. Experience of working with retail, experiential and fashion sectors is desirable.

Main tasks of role:

  • Generating new sales leads
  • Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships
  • Researching organisations and individuals to identify new leads and potential new markets
  • Researching the needs of other companies and learning who makes decisions about purchasing
  • Contacting potential clients via email or phone to establish rapport and set up meetings
  • Working closely with the marketing department to develop bespoke campaigns to relevant prospects
  • Maximising networking opportunities and regularly attending conferences, meetings, and industry events
  • Preparing presentations and sales displays, pitching products and/or services
  • Contacting clients to inform them about new developments in the company’s products
  • Developing quotes and proposals
  • Negotiating and renegotiating by phone, email, and in person

 

Essential requirements:

  • Proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive or relevant role
  • Proven sales track record
  • Consultative sales skills with a balance of soft sell approach and hard sell closure
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • IT fluency
  • Creative talents and the ability to solve tough problems
  • In-depth knowledge of the industry
  • The ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
  • Time management and planning skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Determined, outgoing, positive, articulate and diplomatic

 

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of working in a wide variety of venues around London
  • Experience of working internationally, both delivering a solution from the UK and sourcing local suppliers
  • A large pool of trusted event industry suppliers
