Procurement Manager

Experienced Procurement Manager required for new Head of Procurement EMEA for International Event Services Company. If you have exceptional negotiating skills, great communication skills and experience in sourcing or procurement for Commercial Industry, this is the role for you.

Function

 

At present no procurement function exists within this American Company with global presence.. They have employed a Procurement Manager in the past and more recently used external specialist procurement help. The opportunity now exists for an individual to join GES to review supply arrangements, sourcing, cost base and service levels. This role won’t limit the individual and will actively encourage the review and recommendation of existing and new processes and future spend opportunities. If successful in the UK this role will extend out across EMEA where the company have additional operations (Netherlands, Germany, UAE). The role has no team responsibility in the first instance, but this may change going forwards if the successful candidate demonstrates the need for additional resource.

 

The role is a brilliant opportunity to join a $1bn global company in the exciting and challenging live events sector, delivering over 600 events pa across EMEA. This company are headquartered in Las Vegas and have recently acquired 2 market leading companies in the UK

 

A wide knowledge base is sought for this role. Experience in the automotive sector and/or good Telecoms and Technology skills would be an advantage.

 

Key activities and responsibilities

  • Deliver year on year cost savings
  • Seek out new sources of supply and introduce new products/services
  • Review existing contracts and optimal service level agreements
  • Create business cases Capex purchases
  • Deliver a clear communications plan to the business to ensure buy in
  • Review all spend categories
  • Engage suppliers to ensure suitable order processing systems are in place
  • Challenge existing delivery processes with well thought through and timely alternatives
  • Develop and maintain great relationships with Finance and internal stakeholders
  • Understand the markets my client operate and advise on supplier developments and opportunities
  • Create, deliver and analyze RFPs and market reviews as appropriate
  • Build and maintain appropriate category plans
  • Forecast in a timely and accurate manner
  • Actively engage in continuous improvement ensuring suggestions and opportunities are

highlighted to the business.

  • Drive the Company’s sustainability initiative and ensure where possible your actions support the achievement of this initiative; reuse, recycle and replenish.

Relationships

You will be required to develop and maintain positive and progressive working relationships with multiple functions, in order to facilitate growth and integration across the business.

 

In particular you will be required to work collaboratively alongside and provide support to employees and suppliers.

 

Salary

This is a full-time role with offering an excellent salary depending on experience, but this is flexible for the right candidate

Car allowance p month.

There is also a 20% annual profit bonus

 

My client operate a reward strategy based on their workers receiving a salary that best reflects their experience and skill level.

 

Hours of work

A 37.5 hour week working Monday to Friday, typically between the hours of 8.30 – 5.00 (with one hour unpaid lunch).

 

You may be required to work evenings and weekends during busy periods in order to meet the demands of the business.

 

Annual leave

The holiday entitlement is 25 days per annum (plus bank holidays and statutory public holidays). This will be a pro rata amount for part time and fixed term contract employees.

 

Transport

This role will be based in the Silverstone Drive office and involve some travel. Due to their location a current driving licence and your own transport would be an advantage.
