Paul Byrom has stepped down as managing director of organiser Upper Street Events with immediate effect.
Over the past 14 years, Byrom has grown Upper Street Events from an in-house department of the BDC into a stand-alone division, and ultimately into an independent company.
Byrom will now take up the role of vice chairman of Upper Street Events. In this role he will be initiating acquisitions and keeping the board of Upper Street Events informed on events industry issues.
Julian Spooner, chairman of Upper Street Events, commented: “Paul and I will be working closely together to drive our plans for acquisitions. His excellent industry understanding and contacts are a great asset to Upper Street Events.”
Andrew Duncan joined Upper Street Events in mid-February as CEO; he has a background in events and private equity backed businesses.
Mark Kerswell joined Upper Street Events in September 2016 as CFO and COO; he also has a background in events in both private and publicly quoted businesses.
