Alexandra Palace reveals new events team and rebrand

Alexandra Palace has recruited four staff to help drive more exhibition, conference and live events business at the northern London venue.The new-look team is headed by MD, Rebecca Kane, who formerly managed nine historic houses under English Heritage. She will be tasked with driving up investment into the facility. Kane is supported by new sales director and industry veteran, Jon Johnson, whose resume includes stints with UBM, Media 10, Emap and Informa. Alexandra Palace said Johnson’s experience in pioneering consumer events would be a major asset in expanding business at the venue. Former Lambeth Council head of events and festivals, Emma Dagnes, has also come on-board as event and leisure director, while Charlotte Johnson rounds out the team as marketing manager. To coincide with appointments, Alexandra Palace has rebranded to “the People’s Palace” to reflect its public ownership, Kane said. “Our vision for Alexandra Palace is to put it back at the heart of the events industry. As the only independent venue of our size and type in London, we will be working closely with promoters, exhibition and event organisers to use this wonderful building to its maximum potential,” she said. “The new team herald from all sides of the event industry and so we have a great in-depth understanding of how a venue can work in partnership with clients.”
