Brand Licensing Europe sees overseas visitor surge

The addition of a third day resulted in a surge of overseas visitors to Brand Licensing Europe 2010. Running from 28 to 30 September at Olympia’s Grand Hall in London, the exhibition saw a 37 per cent increase in overseas visitors on 2009. Organisers believe the additional day helped make the show more appealing to those who had further to travel. Exhibitor numbers grew from 176 in 2009 to 236 at this year’s edition, adding 40 per cent more floor space. “Brand Licensing Europe has really come of age in 2010,” said event director Jessica Blue. “We’ve exceeded all of our expectations to become the most successful and well-attended event in our 12-year history.”
As the UK has voted to leave the European Union with a 52 per cent majority result, EN has spoken to members of the exhibition and events industry, to gauge their initial reactions on the future of the UK and their businesses.
More than 8,000 visitors arrived at ExCeL London on 4-6 February for the fourth edition of 100% Optical. The show featured more than 175,000 frames, catwalk performances and a comprehensive education programme.
