Britain for Events announces Premier League and Virgin Atlantic support

The meeting and events industry’s self-promotional campaign, Britain for Events 2010, has secured football’s Premier League and airline Virgin Atlantic as corporate supporters.This announcement underlines the campaign’s move to reach a wider audience. The Premier League will back the campaign on behalf of its 20 member clubs, while Virgin Atlantic will underline its own meetings and events credentials.The Premier League will promote meetings and events through its online channels and will also produce a promotional advert that will be appear across selected club match day programmes.“This is a major coup for the campaign this year,” said head of Business Visits and Events, VisitBritain, Simon Mills. “These high profile corporate supporters are invaluable.”Mills is also confident that more profiled supporters will be signing up shortly. “We’re actively targeting corporate business that can increase the reach of the campaign and we’re on the cusp of announcing more high profile names over the next few weeks,” he added.
