Business Travel Market appoints new team members

Three new faces have been recruited to the team behind next year’s Business Travel Market at Excel London.Former director of Centaur’s Travel Technology Show, Neil Simpson, will join as sales director, while Nikki Stimson has accepted a permanent role as marketing and partnerships director. Judit Mora has been appointed sales and administration support. The appointments coincide with the departure of Mark Harris, who was contracted to set-up and launch the inaugural BTM event with its founder, Paul Robin, in 2009. The Travel Intelligence Network employee will now concentrate on other client projects. “It has been a great pleasure working with Mark, who has been a key factor in BTM’s initial success. But the time is right for BTM to strengthen its team in different ways,” Robin said.Loraine Holdcroft continues her role as VIP hosted buyer programme director and operations continue to be looked after by IQ Events’ Anna Anson.The third annual conference and exhibition for European travel buyers takes place on 22 and 23 June 2011 at Excel London. In August, BTM struck a new partnership with the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) to be the exclusive education content provider for its annual BTM conference.This year’s BTM exceeded 2009 exhibitor numbers, with 500 travel buyers participating from 20 countries. These had a collective travel spend of over €15bn, the organiser claimed.
