CloserStill acquires media and marketing show

CloserStill has expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of First City Events, organiser of the media, marketing and digital communications exhibition, MediaPro.Launched in November 2009 at Old Billingsgate, MediaPro attracted more than 100 exhibitors and 2,000 visitors. Its acquisition is in line with CloserStill's strategy of acquiring B2B media and event companies with strong potential for growth. The new company becomes CloserStill Media and Marketing and will continue to be run by the directors of First City Events, Geoff Hall and David Light. Hall says: "This gives us the investment we need to build on the success of MediaPro 09, and to expand its footprint and content to deliver a bigger and even more compelling proposition."The deal includes the rights to publish The Print Business and PrintMedia Management magazines and websites. PrintMedia Management will be rebranded and repositioned to also cover the digital and mobile market for communications, and investment in The Print Business will see the launch of a new website and the expansion of its digital and online activities.MediaPro, which moves to Olympia in London this year, adds to CloserStill's portfolio, which includes The Pharmacy Show, The London Vet Show, Learning Technologies and Learning and Skills.
