Coopers Exhibitions and Displays have assigned a liquidator to the company, according to its director, Lee Cooper, and Companies House. On 29 July 2010, Coopers Exhibitions and Displays appointed Geoffrey Martin and Co as liquidators of the company in a meeting of creditors. “In the last couple of years the exhibition industry has changed,” says Lee Cooper. “For new work, we had to spend at least two weeks creating our pitch to go against eight other companies. It takes its toll and people ended up giving stuff away just to win the contract.“The final straw was two contracts we had secured for autumn, that fell through. They would have been just enough for us to keep going,” he adds. Speaking about the future, he said it is too early to say. “We are taking stock of the implications. I would like to continue selling our cable flooring,” he comments.Coopers Exhibitions was a design and build agency “spanning two generations” with 40 years experience, and a specialisation in environmentally conscious exhibition design, using recycled and low-energy innovations for custom build solutions.
