The organiser of the Cruise exhibitions in London and Birmingham is planning to extend the event into Scotland and Dusseldorf, Germany. According to Escape Events MD Martin Anslow, the US represented the largest cruise market, followed by the UK and Germany. The company has struck a joint venture with a German-based consultant and plans to launch its inaugural German Cruise event this October. A third UK exhibition is also planned at the Scotland Exhibition and Convention Centre in Glasgow towards the end of October. The next Cruise event will be held in Olympia Grand Hall from 26 to 27 March. New features include a live entertainment stage and expanded speakers’ programme. “My passion is travel, so we look for niches within the travel industry to provide events for,” Anslow told EN. “We have two very successful shows in London and The NEC, so we decided it was time to give Scotland a try. Germany is another significant market for us. ” Escape Events also runs the Spa Show and Adventure Travel Live, which returns to the Royal Horticultural Halls this month. Both events are run in association with the Daily Telegraph. The first Cruise 2011 at The NEC was held last October and attracted 14,000 visitors. The next event will take place from 8 to 9 October 2011.
