EasyFairs has confirmed its newly-acquired Business North West show has been rescheduled for 4-5 May 2011 at Manchester Central. Easyfairs purchased Nationwide Media Group’s assets including its three major business shows – Business North West, Business Midlands and Business Yorkshire – from the default company’s liquidators, FA Simms, last week. At the time, its MD, Matt Benyon, said the exhibitions were a good fit with EasyFairs’ “time and cost effective” model. As a result of the deal, all Nationwide shows were expected to postponed. Business North West was initially scheduled from 27-28 October at Manchester Central. The future of the event and its paid-up exhibitors moved into the spotlight after Nationwide Media Group was forced to call in liquidators earlier this month. EN understands up to £270,000 in deposits had already been paid by exhibitors for the event prior to FA Simms being appointed. EasyFairs also told EN the Business Midlands show, which was due to be held on 3-4 November at Ricoh Arena, will be postponed until May next year. Specific dates have not yet been confirmed. “We have postponed until May in order to more confidently deliver the visitor audience that exhibitors expect,” an EasyFairs spokesperson told EN.The Business Yorkshire business-to-business exhibition was due to run 24-25 November at Doncaster Racecourse. A fourth Business West of England event, at the UWE Exhibition and Conference Centre, was also planned for 10-11 November. The EasyFairs spokesperson confirmed Business Yorkshire and Business West of England are planned to take place “as soon as the market is ready”.
