Escape Events launches Adventure Travel Live, a reincarnation of Daily Telegraph Adventure Travel and Sports Show, this month.Martin Anslow, former MD of ATS Events and current MD of Escape Events, originally launched the exhibition in 1996. He sold the show to Expomedia in 2006 at a time when it was attracting around 30,000 visitors, and was also involved in the show’s 2007 outing. The event failed to run in 2009 after Expomedia went into administration at the start of the year, and Anslow subsequently acquired the intellectual property rights to the show.He says Adventure Travel Live will be substantially different to its predecessor. “The show had become a little bit tired. Adventure Travel Live will be smaller, more niche and very feature-orientated.”Targeting ‘do-it-yourself’ adventurers, the show will offer practical advice on planning and mapping trips from the Royal Geographical Society, as well as more than 60 talks from adventure and travel experts, including Ben Fogle, Benedict Allen and Simon Calder.Adventure Travel Lives runs from 29-31 January at the Royal Horticultural Halls.
