A temporary marquee venue called the Boiler House is now available for private hire at the Battersea Power Station in London from this week.Treasury Holdings, the Irish owner of the power station, hopes this idea will generate extra revenues as it waits for planning permission on a potential £3bn scheme to regenerate the site. Events management company Industri has been bought in to manage the venue."The Boiler House can be used for events and private parties, with a capacity of 1,000 standing guests or 600 seated banquet-style," says management director for events at Industri, Elias Devries. "The Boiler House has exceeded all our initial expectations and we hope to make it one of London’s most popular venues."Despite being closed since 1983, Battersea Power Station is still used by film and television companies to this day, with its location and buildings being used in recent Hollywood blockbusters like Batman: The Dark Knight and The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus.
