Excel CEO Kevin Murphy outstanding at AEO Awards

Excel London CEO Kevin Murphy followed up collecting two awards last month at the Exhibition News Awards by being recognised for his Outstanding Contribution to the Industry at the Association of Event Organisers' (AEO) 2010 Awards at Wembley Stadium. Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre followed up, scooping International Venue of the Year. Manchester Central picked up UK Venue of the Year. Manchester Central’s chief executive, Lesley Tomlinson, commented: "We are absolutely delighted to receive this award and are very proud to have delivered exceptional results this year against a backdrop of a rapidly changing market." Other award winners included Closer Still Media for the London Vet Show in the Best Trade Show. EC&O won the Venue Team of the Year category, while Ceva Freight Build picked up Supplier Team of the Year and Emap Awards the Organiser Team of the Year Pioneer Events won Best Consumer Launch Show for its Bodypower Expo, while Best Stand Design and Build Supplier went to Qdos Exhibitions. Best Exhibition under 2,000sqm, was lunch! from Diversified Business Communications, while the Best Consumer Exhibition over 2,000sqm went to Media 10’s Ideal Home Show. Best Trade Show over 2,000sqm was won by Emap’s Pure London. The AEO Unsung Hero Award went to Melville Middle East’s Colin Silver The Marketing Campaign Award went to Tarsus’ Labelexpo Europe and Official Contractor of the Year to Expo-Systems. The Sustainable Initiative of the Year Award was won by The NEC and its 'Waste not, Want not' campaign. Best Live Event went to UBM for its National Business Awards. The Equipment Supplier of the Year Award went to DB Systems and the AEO’s Service Supplier of the Year Award to Expo-Systems. The Excellence Award was won by Ken Priestly.
