In an expansion effort, Manchester’s arts and entertainment venue The Lowry has taken over the ground floor exhibition facilities in the adjacent Digital World Centre (DWC). The new facilities include a tiered theatre for 100 delegates and over 300sqm of exhibition space, with floor-to-ceiling sound-proof partitioning, which can transform the space into eight individual meeting rooms with capacities ranging from 2-70 delegates.“Following continued growth of the conference and events business at The Lowry and the development of Manchester as a business tourism destination, we have been looking at commercial expansion opportunities to continue to support the work we do here,” says head of hospitality at The Lowry, Mathew Jayne. “The conference centre at DWC is ideally-located and offers the additional capacity and flexibility that will meet the needs of our client’s demand.” The Lowry Conferences and Events @ DWC will enhance the existing facilities in the not-for-profit venue, offering increased capacity and flexibility to its customers. Before the commercial expansion The Lowry itself had four designated conference and event spaces.
