Event organising company Media 10 launched Clerkenwell Design Week (CDW) last month, and claims its results will mean it will return for future editions.CDW is an event, which celebrates design creativity in London’s design hub. Over 150 design events attracted over 18,000 visitors, of which 77 per cent were its target audience of international architects and designers."The location and creativity on show provided enough impetus, inspiration and diversity to hopefully make this an important international event to the design community," says director of CDW, Daren Newton. "In this first year, we were able to prove this, and we look forward to a bigger and better event next year."The 150 events were made up of exhibitions, debates, lectures, product launches, installations and performances. Media 10 used the location’s public spaces, encouraging its local design partners to throw open their doors and provide a direct way to experience the brand’s products.Creative director of designers Cappelini, Gulio Cappellini, adds: "We are living in a very difficult economical moment, but we can not limit creativity. I think this festival was well organised and we had a lot of people come into the showroom."
