Gadget Show Live doubles attendance

Upper Street Events’ 2010 Gadget Show Live doubled its visitor numbers compared with the exhibition’s debut last year.The consumer technology event, which took place at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham from 7 to 11 April, attracted 66,114 visitors.“Following the success of the consumer show in 2009, we extended the event to include a dedicated half day for the trade and a further one and a half days for the general public,” says event director at Upper Street Events, Matt Hodgins. “Exhibitors are telling us that they have achieved record sales and feedback from visitors has been outstanding.”The 2010 event was extended from two to four halls within the NEC, and grew from a three to five day run.The Gadget Show Live 2010 is based on the Five programme and is a shared production with North One Television, Five and Upper Street Events. Visitors can watch the TV show’s presenters perform a live version of the TV programme. More than 180 exhibitors were present including Panasonic, LG, Sanyo, PC World and Nintendo.The organiser will offer a full day for the trade and press for the 2011 show, due to be held from 12 to 17 April.
