Kent Event Centre has announced that it is set to host an alfresco cinema experience with open-air cinema events company, Alfresco Events.

The Movie Under the Stars experience will take place on Friday 14 July in the venue’s 200-acre grounds, set in the Kent countryside. Open to everyone, the evening event, which is expected to attract over 1,500 visitors, will be using a 40-foot screen to display the classic film Dirty Dancing.

On the night, all visitors will be able to enjoy a selection of food and drink from vendors including The Bug Bar, Gourmet Griddle, Pizza Federicci, Wow Churros and Fresh Popcorn. Alongside the array of food and drink choices, the official Kent and Medway based London taxicab photo booth, Selfie Cab and award winning face-painting business; Cosmic Face Painting will be onsite to add to the party atmosphere.

Joanna Hillcock at Alfresco Events, said: “The Kent Event Centre is the perfect venue to host our unique cinema experience. Our huge 40-foot screen will be secluded within a large field creating the perfect spot to sit back and relax for an evening of film under the stars. It’s a great night out with friends and family and we look forward to seeing everyone there.

“With us will be our fantastic food and drink vendors, serving up authentic wood-fired pizza, gourmet burgers and hot churros. The really cool and popular Bug Bar will be open all night to serve drinks. Gates open at 6.30pm so there will be time to come and find the perfect spot with your blankets and chairs, grab some food and drink and relax. Our very popular self-cab and festival face-painting stall will be there to provide some pre-movie entertainment. We also would like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to Bespoke Swimming Pools and Neptune Canterbury who are kindly sponsoring the event.”

Ellie Nicholl, events coordinator at Kent Event Centre, added: “We are really excited to welcome Alfresco Events to the Kent Event Centre to help create its ‘movie under the stars’ experience. This will be the first time we have hosted something like this at the venue and it is great to see our outdoor space being used in such a unique fashion, taking advantage of our extensive grounds to create a fun and memorable event.”
