The organisers of the 2007 Earls Court Boat Show and the 2008 Sail, Power and Watersports Show have merged the events into a new lifestyle leisure exhibition. The British Leisure Show, run by New Street Events, hopes to buck the current trend for niche events when it launches this month at Royal Windsor Racecourse, offering a wide range of leisure services and activities.Running from 19 to 21 March, the 40,000sqm event will feature 300 exhibitors housed in a variety of zones comprising Caravan and Camping, Boats and Watersports, Britain and Abroad, Extreme Sports, Motorhomes and Campervans, Outdoor and Country, Cars and Bikes and Holiday Homes."We wanted to create one show that offers visitors a full range of outdoor leisure services and products," says managing director James Brooke. The marine content of the show has been expanded to allow the industry to meet new customers and benefit from cross-selling opportunities that wouldn't exist at more niche events. It will also be considerably cheaper to exhibit at the event than at other shows, says Brooke. "We have raised a phenomenal amount of money through a team of private investors and have invested it in such a way as to reduce the amount exhibitors have to pay."Visitors will be able to try many of the leisure activities available and also take part in the Sport Relief Mile, which is being hosted at the show.
