NewcastleGateshead to give glimpse of new conference centre

Visitors to the 16 November Discover NewcastleGateshead showcase in London will be among the first to view of plans for a landmark International Conference and Exhibition Centre (ICEC) in North East England. The proposed centre will feature over 4,000sqm of flat floor exhibition space. NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau said the showcase a the Royal Horticultural Halls promises to be its best ever bi-annual showcase, with 25 exhibitors, including Hilton Newcastle Gateshead, Langley Castle, Rockliffe Hall and Durham University. Guests will also be entertained by North East born and bred comedian, Sarah Millican. Head of Business Tourism at NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau, Jessica Roberts said she was looking forward to seeing the cream of the capital’s meetings and events organisers at Discover NewcastleGateshead. “It’s going to be a great evening and we’re really looking forward to giving our guests a taste of the legendary Geordie welcome,” she said. Discover NewcastleGateshead takes place, 16 November 2010 from 4pm – 7.30pm at the RHH’s Lawrence Hall. In a recent survey, NewcastleGateshead revealed £105m has been pumped into venues and hotels around the two cities in the past two years.
