The Association of Event Organisers (AEO) has announced it will be holding a celebration evening for judges, sponsors and winners following the AEO Excellence Awards.
The event will take place on 5 July at the Barbican, following the awards which take place at The Grosvenor House Hotel in 16 June.
Chris Skeith, chief executive of the AEO, commented: “Everybody puts so much personal time and effort into judging, promoting and entering the AEO Excellence Awards that we decided last year to extend the celebrations with a drinks reception, which worked really well.
"It gives the winners the chance to reflect on their achievement and celebrate with other winners on a more intimate scale to the awards, it also provides an opportunity for the sponsors and judges to personally congratulate the winners of the categories they’ve been involved in."
The celebration evening will be held in the Barbican’s Garden Room and Conservatory which is a hidden tropical oasis in the heart of the city with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Barbican Lakeside and St Giles Church.
Jackie Boughton, head of business events at the Barbican Centre, added: “It’s a pleasure to welcome all involved in the AEO Excellence Awards and host them here at the Barbican Centre after the main event. We are delighted to celebrate with the best professionals that the events industry has to offer.”
Skeith concluded: “The Garden Room and Conservatory at the Barbican is a fantastic space to hold a drinks reception and we’re looking forward to hosting a really fun and relaxed evening for everyone who helps us make the AEO Excellence Awards a success.”
