No quick Taylor-made fix for Barbican
05-May-10by Annie Byrne
The Barbican is in no rush to replace its commercial and venues director Mark Taylor, but instead is reviewing its management structure. Taylor’s departure followed news that artistic director Graham Sheffield was moving on. Barbican head of corporate sales, Antony Hyde, tells exhibitionnews.co.uk: “With the departure earlier this year of artistic director Graham Sheffield to head up the West Kowloon Cultural District in Hong Kong, and the development of the Barbican Centre’s alliance with Guildhall School of Music, the Centre is now reviewing the commercial and buildings director role and how it best fits into its overall structure going forward.” As reported by exhibitionnews.co.uk in April, Taylor is to take up the post of chief executive of Wales Millennium Centre (WMC) in Cardiff, in August.
