Olympia has been chosen to host the first Euro Attractions Show (EAS) in the UK in September 2011. The peripatetic event is organised by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) and was most recently staged in Amsterdam (2009) and Rome (2008). It takes place at Olympia from 27-29 September and is expected to attract 270 exhibitors and 9,000 visitors. “We are delighted to have been selected by the IAAPA to host this truly international event,” Earls Court and Olympia commercial director Anna Golden said.IAAPA Europe Advisory Committee chairman Mats Wedin said moving to London was a natural progression for the show. “With our strong relationship with BALPPA [The British Association of Leisure Parks, Piers and Attractions] and the large number of attractions in the United Kingdom it is, without question, one of the best places to take EAS,” he said. EAS is managed by IAAPA’s European operations, under the direction of the IAAPA Europe Advisory Committee and the IAAPA Europe Manufacturers and Suppliers Sub-Committee. Olympia recently appointed Exhibition Traffic Management Services to facilitate traffic around the venue during its £20m revamp.
