Global food event International Food Exhibition (IFE) is to allow its exhibitors access to representatives of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG).Contract caterers from LOCOG are looking to source products for the 14m plates of food that will be served up at London 2012. This is part of IFE’s ‘Meet the Buyer’ event, which will allow its exhibitors the chance to potentially provide LOCOG buyers with their products. “In particular, the LOCOG team will be looking to source quality local and regional produce as outlined in its ‘Food Vision’,” IFE event director Christopher McCuin tells EN. “IFE has over 1,100 exhibitors for the catering team to explore.” McCuin added that the IFE exhibitors are excited about the news: “It is notoriously difficult for companies to get an audience with such a high profile catering team. If they are successful, the chances are that their products will go on to be served at the Games.”IFE 2011 takes place from 13 to 16 March at London Excel.Got a news story?
