Oxford earns its exhibition wings

London Oxford airport is throwing its weight behind Destination Oxford as the area seeks to attract more exhibition and conference business. The airport’s new private terminal, named Oxfordjet, is set to be the international gateway for the region, providing specific travel solutions for organisers and visitors. “With more airline partnerships, the team can now welcome more organisers or visitors to the Oxfordjet business terminal,” says customer services manager, David Surley. “We can also organise departures that can hold anywhere up to 100 attendees or organisers to destinations from Iceland to Marrakech.” Destination Oxford has been challenged to increase the amount staying visitors by 10 per cent by 2016. “This is a good start for us to enhance the understanding of the diversity Oxford and the surrounding region has in terms of venues and facilities,” adds Destination Oxford’s managing agent, Julie Archer.
