Promota co-locates to boost numbers

Promota, the trade association for the promotional merchandise industry, is co-locating its Promota show with Printwear and Promotion to halt the decline in visitor numbers. Visitors at the event dropped from 1,300 to 1,100 as, according to Promota chairman, Rod Duncan, almost a fifth of promotional merchandise companies folded in the last 18 months. Co-locating the two events, which run at the NEC within weeks of each other, will maintain visitor numbers. “We knew we had to do something a bit radical. We’ve been talking to Printwear and Promotion for over a year. People are looking at making cost-savings so it makes sense to have all the visitors together at one time,” says Duncan. The co-located shows, which run 1-2 March 2010 at the NEC, aim to attract 1,200 visitors.
