Reed Travel Exhibitions has announced the new format for its EIBTM Award programme. The RTE European meetings show in Barcelona is shifting the accent from acknowledging agency work on major events, to rewarding stand design and sustainability. There will be eight categories this year: Best Stand Design Overall, Best Stand Design – Shell Scheme, Best Stand for Doing Business, Best Stand Personnel, Best Stand Feature/Attraction, Most Innovative stand within the Technology and Event Services Village, Sustainability, Hosted Buyer voted Best Stand. The awards are open to all exhibitors and will be judged on the opening day of EIBTM, 30 November, by an independent panel. Chief executive of experiential marketing and live event marketing company, TRO Group, Rob Allen, will chair the panel. The Sustainability Award will be judged by Organise This Ltd, a specialist company in the field of sustainability. The winner will need to demonstrate a real commitment to sustainability through their presentation of a product or service at the exhibition. Hosted buyers will be invited to vote for their favourite stand for doing business. Commenting on the new-look awards, EIBTM director Graeme Barnett says they have been set up in recognition of “the importance stands and stand personnel play in the success of achieving return on investment at EIBTM”. Exhibitors, who invest substantial time and budgets in our event, deserve to receive recognition for their design and marketing efforts,” he comments.
