The International Convention Centre in Birmingham has welcomed back the British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA) for its 20th consecutive annual conference. The BSAVA, one of the largest conferences for veterinary surgeons outside the US, was the first event staged at the venue when it opened in 1991. Over the last 20 years, more than 80,000 delegates have attended the event, which has grown year-on-year and now uses all of the ICC’s facilities, with the associated trade exhibitions staged at the adjacent National Indoor Arena. The director of international sales for the ICC, Catherine Newhall-Caiger, said: “Over the last two decades, we have developed a strong partnership with the BSAVA. They are currently signed up to return to us for their 2011, 2012 and 2013 events. The ICC has also been selected to host the World Small Animal Veterinary Congress in 2012, which is expected to attract some 8,500 vets from all over the world.
