Sanders to give RSVP show a rebrand, new features

New RSVP show director, John Sanders, has flagged plans to give the 10-year old events industry event a major facelift in 2011. Sanders took up the post at Single Market Events in November. He said the consumer event would get a fresh look through a rebrand, new features and additional show elements. These include two major zones, Entertain and The Showcase. Also on the cards is a redeveloped website and expanded seminar programme. RSVP 11 runs from 19-20 April at the Business Design Centre.“The show turns 10 next year, so what we want to ensure is that it continues to develop and remain the success it has been,” Sanders told EN. “We’ll be making a number of changes to the event to refocus content and take it into the next 10 years.“It’s about bringing in new features, but still keeping the DNA of the show,” he added. Sanders is best known as the event director of The Exhibiting Show, which rebranded as Excite in 2006. Exposure Event Creations sold the event to F2F Events in 2009. Sanders began running events in trade associations and joined the Association of Event Organisers as project director, before setting up the Association of Event Contractors (now Event and Services Supplier Association). Tom Clarkson has also been appointed RSVP’s new marketing manager. Single Market Events MD Tim Etchells was excited about the new team. “They bring great experience and a tremendous enthusiasm for the events industry that is sure to revitalise what has always been the must-attend event for any event organiser,” he said. This year’s RSVP show reported a 26 per cent decline in visitors. Single Market attributed the drop to tougher market conditions for its key corporate audience.
