Ski and Snowboard Show to relocate

EN EXCLUSIVE: The Ski and Snowboard show will move from Olympia’s Grand Hall to a new home at Earls Court 1 next year.Organiser VOS Media told EN it hopes the move will increase visitor numbers by providing better transport links, as well as giving the show more room to build larger features.“We got an opportunity to move and do something new with the event,” said VOS Media MD Damian Norman. “We’re a feature-led show, so having the show on one floor with fewer height restrictions will give us more freedom to do what we want.“We had been trying to move the show for about eight years or so,” he added.Norman also expressed grief at the awkward tube access to Olympia. “It is the most beautiful exhibition building in the world,” he said, “We have worked with Earls Court and Olympia to resolve the transport issue, but Transport for London will not improve that javelin service, and that is such a barrier to getting people here. I had someone call me today and say they were waiting for a tube at Earls Court for 45 minutes.“I even said I had someone that would sponsor the train if they could get it running more regularly and they said no. I asked why but we’ve never had a concrete answer from TfL." Norman added Earls Court and Olympia were looking at other transport solutions as a result. According to Norman, the Ski and Snowboard Show moved to Olympia from Earls Court 10 years ago. This year marks the 38th edition of the show, which runs from 20 to 24 October in Olympia’s Grand Hall.
