Ken Schofield, chairman of the Golf Show Group, is entering a new sector by expanding the show to cater for the tennis market. The London Golf and Tennis Show 2010 is the culmination of talks between Schofield; the current president of the Tennis Industry Association, Ian Peacock OBE; the CEO of the Professional Golfers Association, Sandy Jones; and the COO of the England Golf Partnership, Roger Moreland. “The time is right for this launch. The idea came about very organically over a long period of time,” says Schofield. “It’s great to be able to open up an already successful show to an even larger audience.” Schofield feels there are many crossovers between the two sports. Large brands and sponsors operate across both sectors and many amateurs play both sports. “We are very excited about the show and already have commitments from some major names in tennis who will support this collaboration. It’ll be an ideal vehicle for companies to showcase products to players, enthusiasts and supporters of the game,” adds Peacock. The London Golf and Tennis Show 2010 will take place on 30 April – 2 May at London Excel.
