The Gadget Show Live adds extra day of admission to accommodate demand

Due to unprecedented demand, organiser of The Gadget Show Live 2010 has added an extra day of admission at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre. Now a five-day event, the show has doubled in size year-on-year and is already sold out on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday with more than 53,000 tickets purchased. Tickets are currently still available for Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8 April. Visitors can watch the TV show’s presenters perform a live version of the TV programme. More than 180 exhibitors will be present including Panasonic, LG, Sanyo, PC World and Nintendo. “We’ve never heard of a tenancy being extended in this fashion before, it’s a real indication of the nation’s enthusiasm for the latest technology,” says event director at Upper Street Events, Matt Hodgins. “This will be the biggest ever consumer electronics show in the UK.”The Gadget Show Live 2010 is based on the Channel 5 programme and is a shared production with North One Television, Five and Upper Street Events. More than 65,000 visitors are expected over the five days.
