Timber Expo attracts 6,000 visitors to second NEC show

The organiser of Timber Expo has said its latest exhibition was the most successful in the event’s four-year history. More than 6,000 visitors attended Timber Expo’s second NEC show on 7-8 October, following its relocation from the Ricoh Arena in 2012. Last year’s event attracted a total of 4,611 visitors. “Timber Expo has grown year on year and this represents a 30 per cent increase on the 2013 visitor numbers,” said event director Loretta Sales. “There was a real buzz around the event which is now a truly international affair, with visitors travelling as far afield as Qatar, China, Ghana, Russia, Kuwait, India, Malaysia, Canada and New Zealand. Exhibitors came from over 30 countries to showcase innovations from across the globe.” Highlights of the show included the Timber Buyers & Specifiers Forum and the Timber Expo Awards. On behalf of TRADA, organiser of the seminar programme, Rupert Scott said: “The Timber Focus seminars featured over 50 renowned speakers from across the built environment. The format went down well with visitors and all chairmen have reported lively and engaging Q&A sessions because of the great content that was delivered by people who knew their subject well.“ According to the organiser, nearly 60 per cent of exhibitors signed contracts at the show for the 2015 event, to be held on 6-7 October 2015 at the NEC.
