The newly-elected Minister for Culture, Ed Vaizey, has chosen the Develop in Brighton Conference and Exhibition to speak to the games industry for the first time since coming to power in May. He will speak on Wednesday 14 July, directly after the conference keynote from BioWare co-founders Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka. As shadow minister, Vaizey pledged to support the games industry and has now promised that both the Conservatives and the new Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, back his pledge “to breathe new life into the UK game industry with tax relief”. “Vaizey was a great supporter of the games industry in opposition and we are now enormously fortunate to have such a passionate advocate of the industry at ministerial level,” says MD of Revolution and Develop advisory board member, Charles Cecil. Develop in Brighton is to be held at the Hilton Metropole Hotel from 13 to 15 July 2010.
