VisitBritain and BVEP to lead targeting of new MPs post general election

Meetings industry associations are to lobby the new crop of MPs following the general election.Event director for Confex, Duncan Reid, and VisitBritain’s head of business visits and events, Simon Mills, announced at Confex today the idea to target the 300 to 400 MPs expecting to be elected in the upcoming general election, especially those that have major events venues in their constituencies.Those MPs with significant venues in their constituencies will be targeted by an industry lobbying campaign."We want to focus on MPs who have constituencies significant to the events sector," said Mills.MPs will be invited to a special event at the House of Commons for discussions on 18 October.
