Weather not the only Factor for National Boat Show to consider

The National Boat Show opened its doors at London Excel today, with organisers in positive spirits despite the cold weather. The event, opened by X Factor stars Stacey Solomon and Olly Murs, had all 502 exhibitors shipshape and ready to go, and organisers remain upbeat that the recent cold snap won’t keep visitors away. “We’ve enjoyed a 16 per cent increase on pre-sold tickets compared to last year. Tickets aren’t restricted to a specific day only, they are flexible, so visitors can come when they like,” show director Andrew Williams tells Exhibition News. “Plus, the show offers a chance for visitors to leave the cold behind and start thinking about their summer holidays.” Solomon and Murs cut the ribbon at the show and provided entertainment by singing to the gathering crowd. Alongside the proposed growth of London Excel next year, Williams says the show can take advantage of the extra space. “We’ll definitely expand the show to fill the venue. It might not be for another couple of years, but I’m confident that we’ll have the support of the boating industry and make that happen,” he adds.
