Exposure Communications aims to take extreme sports to the masses with its new show, X In The City.Targeting fans of urban and extreme sports as well as ‘weekend warriors’ and families, the event will feature 20 alternative action sports, including skateboarding, BMX, in-line skating and ultimate Frisbee and jet ski.“There are other events around, but they tend to focus on music or competition. They’re not about entertainment and taking these sports to the wider community,” Simon Burton, managing director of Exposure Communications, told EN. He says entertainment will be a key feature of the 15,000sqm show, which aims to attract show 25,000 visitors. The event is partnering with 20 extreme sports associations, each of which will provide feature content, and all visitors will have access to the Theatre of Xtremes; a live performance of professional extreme sports performers in a 3,000 seat auditorium.Burton has employed a dedicated social media team to market and support the event, which takes place at Excel from 22-24 October.
